Trying to get an measure of her feet without her noticing had been… challenging. Finding a cobbler who would let him help as far as working in charms and small spells for comfort and durability… that was… more challenging, and possibly trying to convince his sister that Luna would prefer these to a pair of silk slippers was the hardest.

Still, he was pleased with the result. Tall, sturdy leather boots in gleaming leather, charms stitched around the buttonholes, worked into the soles even. They were excellent boots, the kind she could use for ages to come, and that he meant for her to be around to use.

The combs were… well the combs were considerably less practical, but he’d seen them in a shop window and the gleaming abalone and mother of pearl made him think of her blue hair. The shopkeeper had tried to convince him that a string of pearls, maybe a ring with glittering cut stones might be better, or… anyrate more costly, but the combs reminded him of Luna, so he bought them, and tucked them in beside the boots in a small box to keep them in. Nothing so large she couldn’t pocket it.

Three was probably extravagance, but it was also practicality. And the fear that he wouldn’t be there when she needed him, or that he’d hesitate, or fail. It was a simple thing. A waterskin. Not a thing you saw much in cities, but if you knew the right people, you could lay hands on one. And this one he’d all but rebuilt, huffing in frustration to make a charm that worked. It needed to store water, more water than perhaps it had a right to, and keep it clean and fresh. Ideally he would have tried to make it able to turn salt to fresh, but he wasn’t sure that was something he could do. It wasn’t something he’d ever tried, so he did what he could, because in her hands, it was a weapon that didn’t look like a weapon. Water when she needed it. Clean, fresh water, readily available and secure.

He wished he could do more, but he wasn’t sure what to do. Or how to do it. After speaking to Josie, he at least thought there might be directions to look, but it was slow going, and it was difficult to find records on things that involved magic not like theirs.

So for now, this was what he could do, and hope it was enough.

He didn’t know what he’d do if that horrible vision in the cabin became real. He couldn’t loose her that way. It would be too much.
((Authors note: Changing salt water to fresh water magically is possible.... but it would be more in the camp of Mage magic. Sorry Rob, you'll have to meet Jabir first.))

At least Rob seems to be getting better at figuring out what sort of things Luna might like.

Maybe they'll actually have a proper conversation about ...things. At the very least they should have no trouble finding time and space for such.  Even If it's  only because their friends seem intent on making sure they do. ;)
